This course is designed so you can start right after earning your Open Water Diver certification to help you build confidence, and experience a variety of types of diving under the supervision of your PADI instructor. You will build on what you already know and develop new skills in the areas of diving that interest you.

The Advanced Open Water Scuba Course can be personalized to the areas of diving you want to explore. You'll learn about the practical aspects and physiology of deeper diving (beyond 60 ft). You'll also learn more about using your compass, and other ways to navigate a dive. With your instructor,  you will also choose three additional kinds of diving to try. Is it Photography that interests you? Wreck diving? Coral Conservation?

The Scuba Gear You Use

You use all the basic scuba gear including your underwater compass. Depending on which three adventure dives you pick, you may also be introduced to underwater photography equipment , a dive light, lift bags, a dive flag/float or other specialty gear.

 

Your Next Adventure

After you've tried a specialty in the Advanced Open Water Diver course, you'll probably want to take the associated Specialty Course and learn more, and the dive you did counts toward the specialty certificaiton. Keep the adventure going. Now that you're truly hooked, you may want to start the Rescue Diver Course or consider taking the ultimate challenge to earn the Master Scuba Diver rating.
