Why Dive Shops Matter

Diving can be one of the most exhilarating and rewarding hobbies a person can have. To get the most enjoyment from it–and to do it safely–requires equipment that not only fits correctly but is right for the type of diving you’ll be doing. Not all masks, fins, or even wetsuits are intended for diving. Buying from a local professional dive shop means you are not only getting the proper gear for you, but that that equipment is warrantied by the manufacturer. (Many of the “deals” found online are not sold by authorized resellers, so you can’t be entirely sure what condition it is in, and if something goes wrong, it generally can’t be repaired under warranty.)

But dive shops are more than just places to pick up a new mask. They are social, inspirational, and educational hubs where you can meet other divers, learn about different diving spots and get the most out of your newest passion. Our staff are all divers who are excited to help our customers, regardless of their level of experience. One Ocean Scuba also regularly holds events that support and educate the community, both above and beneath the water.
