Padi Open Water Diver Course
This is where it all starts. Earn your PADI Open Diver certification, the world's most popular and widely recognized SCUBA certification. Complete this course and proudly call yourself a SCUBA diver!

Course layout: The full course consists of 4 parts. Split this into two columns for referral and full course.
- eLearning - complete the online learning portion of the course through PADI. When you sign up, this will be assinged to you. Prepare for the dive ny learning principles of diving, dive equipment, safety, and communication. This course includes knowledge review quizzes and a final exam. Must be completed prior to the open water dives (step 3).
- Confined (Pool) dives - review and master your skills in the pool, with the help of our instructors. This typically takes 2 pool sessions, each 4 hours in length. Check our calendar to see which set of upcoming pool days fit your schedule, and contact us to reserve your spots.
- Open water (lake) dives - complete your certification with us at a real lake! Grab your gear from the shop, load up the car, and come meet us at one of our beautiful local diving spots in PA or VA. Over the course of a two day weekend at the lake, complete four required dives demonstrating all the skills you have learned so far in a live diving environment. Of course, our instructors will be there to guide you all the way!
- Quick review - finally, come to the shop to complete a quick review quiz and drop off your lake gear. With this step complete, you will be a certified diver for life!
If you end up needing more (or less) time for the pool or lake sessions, that is fine! Completion of the class is based on your comfort level, not a time requirement. When you purchase a course with us, you are paying for the course, not specific days. We will work with you to make sure you are confident in your knowledge and skills!
Requirements:
- Ages 10 & Over
- Purchase or own your own set of properly fitting SCUBA rated mask, snorkel, boots and fins. Come by the shop and we can help you get the right gear.
- If you instead choose to rent mask, snorkel, boots and fins (an additional $25 / day), come by the shop for a proper fitting.
- All other gear, air, and weights is included in your course cost.
- This is a beginner friendly course. No prior SCUBA experience required.
